Huawei unveils Mate XT hours after iPhone 16 launch

Huawei on Tuesday unveiled the world’s first triple-fold smartphone, Mate XT, just a few hours after Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) released iPhone 16.

The device, introduced in a livestreamed event from Shenzhen, features a 10.2-inch display, when fully unfolded, and starts at 19,999 yuan ($2,800). It runs Huawei’s in-house Harmony OS.

Huawei is expected to launch several new products, including its next flagship phone Mate 70, at the event on Sept. 10. Huawei Technologies has received over 3 million pre-orders for its triple-folding smartphone, its Vmall website showed on Monday.
