Intel, AMD CPU prices rise due to AI demand: report

Intel (INTC) and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) CPU prices have increased since the start of November, possibly due to higher demand stemming from artificial intelligence, according to Wccftech.com.

The price increases were noted for Intel’s Raptor Lake series and AMD’s Ryzen 5000, the report said. Raptor Lake CPUs had increased by about 10%, and the 5000 series were up by $5 to $20, it added, according to data from China’s ChannelGate. It cited a possible shortage of components and strong AI demand as potential reasons behind the higher prices.

The report noted that Intel’s Core Ultra 200 and AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series have not demonstrated any noticeable price increases.
