Intel launches enterprise AI solutions Xeon 6, Gaudi 3

Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) has launched its next-generation enterprise AI solutions Xeon 6 and Gaudi 3, potentially looking to challenge Nvidia’s (NVDA) dominance in the field.

Intel’s stock was up about 2% on Tuesday, while Nvidia rose about 4%.

At the Intel Vision 2024 conference in April, Intel had unveiled the Gaudi 3 accelerator for enterprise generative AI, while in June the company showcased the Xeon 6 with P-cores.

The company said Gaudi 3 AI Accelerator is optimized for large-scale generative AI, and has 64 Tensor processor cores and eight matrix multiplication engines to accelerate deep neural network computations. It includes 128 gigabytes of HBM2e memory for training and inference, and 24 200 Gigabit Ethernet ports for scalable networking.

“Demand for AI is leading to a massive transformation in the data center, and the industry is asking for choice in hardware, software and developer tools,” said Justin Hotard, Intel executive vice president and general manager of the Data Center and Artificial Intelligence Group.

Intel noted that Xeon 6 delivers twice the performance of its predecessor. It features increased core count, double the memory bandwidth and AI acceleration capabilities embedded in every core.
