Israel agrees to buy 25 F-15 fighters from Boeing
Israel’s military on Thursday said it had reached a deal to buy 25 next-generation F-15 fighter jets from U.S. aviation giant Boeing (NYSE:BA).
The $5.2 billion agreement was part of a broader package of aid approved by the Biden administration and Congress earlier this year. It includes an option for 25 additional aircraft.
Delivery of the F-15s will start in 2031, with four to six aircraft due each year. The jets will be equipped with weapons systems that work with existing Israeli weapons.
“This F-15 squadron, alongside the third F-35 squadron procured earlier this year, represents a historic enhancement of our air power and strategic reach – capabilities that proved crucial during the current war,” Eyal Zamir, director general of the defense ministry, said in the statement.
