- Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) has unveiled plans to spend more than $2B to build a new manufacturing plant in North Carolina, U.S., to produce its biologic medicines in the areas of oncology, immunology, and neuroscience.
- The New Brunswick, New Jersey-based healthcare giant identified the new plant as a critical component in its long-term strategy to achieve over 70 regulatory filings and product launches by the end of the decade.
- Johnson & Johnson (JNJ) said construction of the state-of-the-art facility is expected to start in H1 2025. Once fully operational, it will employ nearly 420 full-time employees.
- “North Carolina is an important hub for biopharmaceutical manufacturing and talent, and we are pleased to join this thriving life sciences ecosystem and become part of the Wilson community,” added Dapo Ajayi, Vice President of J&J’s (JNJ) Innovative Medicine Supply Chain.
