JPMorgan Chase chief Dimon said to be open to a Harris administration role

- JPMorgan Chase (NYSE:JPM) Chairman and CEO Jamie Dimon has reportedly told associates in private that he might consider a role in a Harris administration, possibly Treasury Secretary. For almost a year, media reports have speculated on the potential for Dimon to become the next head of the U.S. Treasury.
- Publicly, Dimon hasn’t endorsed a candidate in the presidential race, considering the potential repercussions should Donald Trump win a second term, the New York Times reported, citing three people with knowledge of Dimon’s private conversations.
- Late last year, Axios reported that the long-time JPMorgan chief would be considered for Treasury Secretary in a second Trump administration. Then in July, Donald Trump denied that he was considering him or BlackRock’s Larry Fink for the role.
- Earlier this month, Dimon said the chance of his joining an administration is almost nil. Still, he said he’s an “American patriot” and that his “country is more important to me than my company.”
