Kelce Brothers and Amazon have reportedly signed +$100M deal for New Heights podcast
The Kelce Brothers of the NFL have signed a more than $100 million, three-year deal with Amazon’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) Wondery unit for their podcast New Heights, according to at least two reports citing people familiar with the matter.
NFL stars Jason and Travis Kelce have signed a deal that gives Wondery the rights to distribute and sell ads for audio and video versions of their podcast, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, which will remain available across platforms such as Spotify, Apple, YouTube, and Amazon Music.
Wave Sports + Entertainment, which previously distributed the show, will continue to produce it, the WSJ report said.
In a statement to Bloomberg, the Kelce Brothers said, “We love this show and the fanbase that has grown with us over the last two seasons. We are going to create some groundbreaking moments together through this partnership.”
The deal also gives Amazon the rights to develop, manufacture, license, and distribute all merchandise based on the program, a person familiar with the arrangement told Bloomberg. Ad-free versions of the show will be made available on Wondery+, the BBG report said.
The deal with Kelce Brothers is the latest in the podcast industry, which has seen some sluggishness over the last two years. Last week, SiriusXM signed a $100 million deal with Alex Cooper for her show Call Her Daddy, and comedian Dax Shepard signed a $80 million deal with Wondery last month for distribution and ad sales for his Armchair Expert podcast. Earlier in the year, Spotify renewed its deal with Joe Rogan for his namesake podcast.
