Kevin Warsh ‘would make a great’ Fed chief, JPMorgan’s Jamie Dimon says

Former Federal Reserve Governor Kevin Warsh “would make a great” leader of the U.S. central bank, JPMorgan Chase (JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon said during a recent event, according to a media report on Friday.

Warsh was previously considered for Fed chair during President Donald Trump’s first term.

National Economic Council Director Kevin Hassett, who is still widely seen as the top candidate to succeed current Fed chief Jerome Powell in May 2026, would most likely reduce interest rates in the near term, aligning with Trump’s view, Dimon said at the private event, Barron’s reported.

The NEC head urged the Fed last week to keep lowering rates, correctly predicting a third consecutive quarter-point reduction at this week’s policy meeting.
