Lead times for Apple’s (AAPL) iPhone 17 product line have moderated by a few days this week from last week, J.P. Morgan said, citing its most recent channel checks.
“In Week 15 of our Apple Product Availability Tracker, lead times across the iPhone 17 series moderated by three days, relative to unchanged lead times observed from Wk14 to Wk15 in the prior year for iPhone 16, with average lead times now tracking at ~3 days, which is in line with the prior year,” analyst Samik Chatterjee wrote in a note to clients. “The company has in most product cycles reached parity of demand and supply towards the end of the year, and the same appears to be the case with the iPhone 17 series cycle, where the higher y/y demand drove extended delivery times for most part of the post-launch quarter. While the demand-supply parity implies that there will be limited supply constraints to worry about into F2Q26, the robust sell-through for the iPhone 17 series will continue to likely drive higher iPhone units and revenue through the rest of the product cycle.”
Chatterjee has an Overweight rating on Apple.
Breaking it down by market, lead times for the iPhone 17 and Air fell to 2 days in Week 15 of their availability in the U.S., down from 8 and 4 days in Week 14, respectively. Lead times for the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max came in at 2 days each, compared to 4 and 6 days in Week 14. All variants of the iPhone 17 were available for in-store pickup, Chatterjee added.
In China, lead time for the iPhone 17 was 1 day, down from 7 days in Week 14. For the iPhone Air, it came in at 1 day, mostly unchanged from last week, as did the iPhone 17 Pro, at 1 day. The iPhone 17 Pro Max lead time was 1 day in Week 15, down from 4 days in Week 14. Like in the U.S., all variants of the iPhone 17 line were available for in-store pickup, Chatterjee explained.
In Europe, the lead times for all the iPhone 17 models continued to dwindle, except for the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The iPhone 17 and Air fell to 5 and 2 days in Week 15 in Germany, respectively, down from 9 and 3 days, respectively. The Pro came in at 2 days, down from 3 days, while the Pro Max stayed constant at 6 days.
In the U.K., lead times for the iPhone 17 and iPhone Air were 2 days each in Week 15, down from 11 days and 4 days in Week 14, respectively. The lead times for the Pro and Pro Max were 2 days and 9 days in Week 15, compared to 4 days and 8 days in Week 14, respectively.
As in the U.S. and China, all variants of the iPhone 17 line were available for in-store pickup in the U.K. and Germany, Chatterjee added.
