Linda Yaccarino, the Chief Executive Officer of social media company X, formerly known as Twitter, has decided to step down as the company’s CEO, she said in a post on X.
Yaccarino said in her post that she is “immensely grateful” to Elon Musk for entrusting her with the responsibility of “protecting free speech, turning the company around, and transforming X into the Everything App.”
Yaccarino did not name a successor in her post.
Yaccarino’s announcement comes amidst X’s billionaire owner, Elon Musk’s plans to launch a new political party, leading Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) inverstors to get increasingly concerned regarding the EV company’s future direction.
Tesla has faced protests, incidents of vandalism, and a sharp decline in its stock price recently amid Musk’s increasing association with politics.
Earlier this year, Musk stepped down from both the Trump administration and his position with DOGE—the agency responsible for reducing U.S. government spending and downsizing the federal workforce—to refocus his attention on Tesla.
