Facebook owner Meta (NASDAQ:META) is planning to go ahead with its fourth reorganization of its artificial intelligence initiatives in six months, The Information reported, citing three sources familiar with the matter.
The company is aiming for four subdivisions within its new AI unit, Superintelligence Labs, which Meta (NASDAQ:META) launched recently under the leadership of Alexandr Wang, former CEO of data labeling startup Scale AI.
According to two people familiar with the matter, a new “TBD Lab,” an abbreviation for “to be determined,” and a products team including the Meta AI assistant will be organized under Superintelligence Labs.
The other units under consideration include an infrastructure team and the Fundamental AI Research (FAIR) lab, tasked with long-term research.
Reuters reported last month that META had reorganized its AI initiatives under Superintelligence Labs following a series of executive departures and a poor reception for its latest open-source Llama 4 model.
