Meta informs users of outage across its apps through X
Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta (NASDAQ:META) on Wednesday posted through its official account on Elon Musk’s X that all of its social media apps, namely Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads, were down in what appears to be a global outage.
“We’re aware that a technical issue is impacting some users’ ability to access our apps. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and apologize for any inconvenience,” Meta said on X.
According to data from Downdetector, reports of Facebook outages reached 105k soon after 1:00 pm ET in the U.S. For Instagram, at least 69k reports were received.
The outages across Meta’s apps are also being reported in major markets like India, Brazil, and the UK, according to Downdetector.
Shares of META were +2% by 2:30 pm ET on the Nasdaq.
