Meta (NASDAQ:META) unveiled new Ray-Ban AI smart glasses with a built-in high-resolution display that can be controlled by small hand movements via a neural band.
“Now this isn’t a prototype,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg said at the annual Connect event on Wednesday. This is here, it is ready to go, and you’re going to be able to buy them in a couple of weeks.”
The display “appears in one eye, it’s slightly off-center, so it doesn’t block your view, and it disappears after a few seconds when it’s not in use,” Zuckerberg noted.
The glasses and Meta Neural Band set is priced at $799 in stores, “where you can get demos as well on September 30,” the CEO said.
To note, the wristband glitched during a live demonstration when Zuckerberg tried to pick up a video call from Meta (NASDAQ:META) CTO Andrew Bosworth using hand motions.
“We’ll debug that later,” Zuckerberg said. “You practice these things like 100 times and then you never know what’s going to happen.”

A new feature will be rolled out for all Ray-Ban smart glasses called conversation focus, which can amplify a user’s friend’s voice during a call and drown out external noise.
Meta (META) unveiled a new line of Oakley smart glasses designed for athletes – Oakley Meta Vanguard. These will be priced at $499, with first shipments expected on October 21.
