Microsoft adds new features to AI Copilot in Windows 11

  • Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) on Thursday announced several new features for its artificial intelligence chatbot, Copilot, bringing more functionality to its ubiquitous Windows 11 operating system.
  • Windows 11 users can now use the wake words, “Hey, Copilot” to complete a task, Microsoft said in a blog post. The feature requires users to opt-in and gives them “a new way to easily start a conversation with Copilot Voice, anytime the feature is enabled.” CEO Satya Nadella described the new feature as a way to let users “talk naturally” to their computers.
  • The Nadella-led company also said it was expanding Copilot Vision, a feature that can analyze content on users’ screens and answer questions related to that content, worldwide.
  • In addition, Microsoft said it would be launching new features for Windows 11 Insiders, adding agentic AI capabilities.
  • The company also provided on its Xbox-Windows gaming features, unveiling Gaming Copilot on the handheld ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X devices.
  • Microsoft shares rose fractionally in morning trading.
