Investment funds managed by Morgan Stanley’s (MS) private equity team have made a majority investment in employee-owned engineering and design firm Olsson, Inc., according to a Tuesday statement.
Founded in 1956, Nebraska-based Olsson offers a suite of infrastructure engineering design and consulting solutions to both public and private clients across various end markets, including technology, transportation and water infrastructure, power, industrial, federal, among others.
“We are thrilled to be Olsson’s first institutional partner and believe that the Company is uniquely positioned to scale into a market leader in its targeted geographies and markets,” said Eric Kanter, head of Industrial Services at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners (“MSCP”), the middle-market-focused PE unit at Morgan Stanley Investment Management.
MSCP’s investment in Olsson marks its fourth investment in infrastructure services, following stakes in Resource Innovations, Apex Companies and Alliance Technical Group since 2021.
