Nio (NIO) marked the production of its 1,000,000th vehicle at Factory Two in Hefei, Anhui Province. The electric vehicle said the milestone underscored its rapid growth and influence within China’s smart electric vehicle industry.
During the production event, Nio donated its 1,000,000th vehicle, which was a Nebula Green All-New ES8, to the Micius Quantum Foundation to support quantum science research. The company also introduced the ET9 Milestone Edition to honor innovators across industries. At the event, executives from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers highlighted Nio’s (NIO) leadership in advancing China’s EV technology and brand sophistication as domestic automakers approach global dominance.
CEO William Li stated that NIO is entering its “third stage of development” focused on high-quality growth. By 2030, NIO plans to exceed 10,000 stations and sustain 40% to 50% annual sales growth while expanding global operations. Nio (NIO) also signed cooperation agreements with Chery, JAC Motors, and Lontium Semiconductor to strengthen China’s EV innovation ecosystem.
Founded in 2014 by William Li, Nio (NIO) debuted its first electric SUV in 2018, followed by a broad portfolio including the ET7 sedan and ET5 fastback. Currently, Nio (NIO) operates three brands (NIO, ONVO, and Firefly) that target different market segments.
Shares of Nio (NIO) broke 2.5% higher in premarket trading on Tuesday.
