Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NYSE:NCLH) said on Monday it signed an eight-year agreement with Repsol to supply renewable marine fuels at the Port of Barcelona, marking one of the cruise industry’s longest renewable fuel partnerships.
Starting in the 2026 European season, Repsol will provide biofuels and, from 2029, renewable methanol to NCLH’s vessels across its cruise brands when calling at Barcelona.
The companies said the deal supports their net-zero goals by 2050 and aligns with NCLH’s plans to cut greenhouse gas intensity by 10% by 2026 and 25% by 2030.
