FieldAI, the robotics startup that is backed by Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) and others, announced on Wednesday that it has raised $405M in two consecutive funding rounds to boost its capabilities of building robots.
Included in the funding rounds are Nvidia’s venture arm, Intel Capital, BHP Ventures, Jeff Bezos’s Bezos Expeditions and others. Previous investors include Bill Gates’ Gates Frontier firm and Samsung (OTCPK:SSNLF).
The new funding would value the company at less than $2B, CNBC reported.
“Enabling autonomy solutions at scale is an extremely difficult problem, but the deep expertise of the FieldAI team and their unique approach to embodied intelligence reflects a pragmatic path forward,” said Vinod Khosla, founder of Khosla Ventures (a previous investor) in a statement. “FieldAI is at the forefront of the general-purpose robotics revolution, and its ability to rapidly deploy will unlock long-term economic and societal value.”
FieldAI is creating real-time systems for robots to be used in a variety of different fields, including construction, energy, manufacturing, urban delivery and inspection.
