Perplexity AI, the generative artificial intelligence search startup backed by Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), announced it is launching a $200-per-month subscription tier aimed at high-end users.
“Perplexity Max is our most advanced subscription tier yet, built for those who demand limitless AI productivity and immediate access to the newest products and features from Perplexity,” the company said in a blog post. “With Perplexity Max, you can reach the maximum power of your curiosity.”
Included in the Perplexity Max subscription tier is unlimited access to its spreadsheet, web app and presentation tool, Labs. It also includes early access to its upcoming AI web browser, Comet, as well as access to Perplexity services that use the latest models from competitors, such as OpenAI’s o3-pro and Anthropic’s Claude Opus 4.
Perplexity Max is available on the web and the company’s iOS app.
The news comes as larger tech companies have discussed acquiring or partnering with Perplexity AI. Apple (AAPL), which has run into issues with its AI capabilities, has had internal discussions about buying or partnering with Perplexity. Prior to acquiring half of Scale AI, Meta Platforms (META) discussed buying Perplexity.
In May, Perplexity raised $500M that valued the company at just over $14B.
