Nvidia-backed Perplexity serving 100M+ queries each week: CEO
- Perplexity, the generative artificial intelligence search startup backed by Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA), is now serving more than 100M search queries, Chief Executive Officer Aravind Srinivas said on Friday.
- “Perplexity now serves over 100M queries every week,” Srinivas said on the social network X. “Next stop: 100M+ queries every day.”
- Perplexity, which is looking to raise money that would value the Google competitor at $8B, has come under scrutiny for alleged copyright infringement. News Corp’s (NWS)(NWSA) The Wall Street Journal and New York Post accused Perplexity of taking copyrighted news content to generate answers for search users, thereby steering web traffic away from publisher websites.
- Perplexity responded to the allegations and called the lawsuit “fundamentally shortsighted, unnecessary, and self-defeating.”
