Nvidia backs AI math startup Harmonic in latest funding round: report

Nvidia (NVDA) continues to invest in artificial intelligence startups, with the latest being Harmonic, which develops models for solving complex math problems, according to Axios.

Harmonic is raising $120M in a Series C funding round, which will elevate its valuation to $1.45B, according to the report. Other investors in the startup include Emerson Collective, Ribbit Capital, Sequoia Capital, Index Ventures and Kleiner Perkins. The startup, which was founded in 2023, plans to use the funding for additional computing resources and to expand its workforce.

Vlad Tenev, the co-founder and CEO of Robinhood (HOOD), also co-founded Harmonic. Its flagship model is known as Aristotle. It achieved gold medal-level performance at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad. It also posted a 96.8% accuracy rating in a code verification benchmark.

“[Nvidia’s] support will help us advance Aristotle’s capabilities, accelerate the pace of discovery in mathematics and enable industries to harness the power of mathematical AI for critical, high-stakes problems,” Harmonic CEO and co-founder Tudor Achim said, according to the report.

Investing in these companies helps Nvidia develop its ecosystem, as most of these startups typically rely on Nvidia’s processors for training and inference.

It was reported on Wednesday that Nvidia was also backing Skild AI, a startup that develops AI software for robotics. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang said robotics are “the next chapter” in AI during his keynote presentation last week at CES.
