Nvidia (NVDA) CEO Jensen Huang said he still hopes to one day sell chips from the company’s Blackwell lineup to Chinese customers, though there are currently no such plans.
When asked Friday whether Nvidia intends to sell AI accelerators from the Blackwell series in China, Huang replied, “I don’t know. I hope so someday.” He also noted that chip sales were not discussed during his meeting with Ren Hongbin, Chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade.
The Blackwell line represents Nvidia’s latest generation of artificial intelligence semiconductors and has become a focal point in ongoing U.S.–China trade dynamics.
Licensing for those products was not addressed in this week’s talks between President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, with Trump saying that Nvidia and the Chinese government would need to continue discussions about the $5 trillion company’s access to China’s market.
NVDA shares rose 1.6% premarket on Friday and have advanced over 51% YTD.
