OpenAI (OPENAI) has reached a deal to acquire Neptune, a Poland-based startup that provides greater visibility and detects possible issues during the training of artificial intelligence models, according to Bloomberg.
No terms on the deal were provided, but the Microsoft-backed (MSFT) OpenAI has already been using Neptune’s tools for about a year as a client. OpenAI plans to utilize Neptune’s applications to fine-tune its own models and eventually cut off access for its existing clients, according to the report.
Some of Neptune’s high-profile clients include Roche (OTCQX:RHHBY), Samsung (OTCPK:SSNLF) and Hewlett Packard (HPQ).
In October, OpenAI acquired AI startup Software Applications, maker of the Sky language interface for Apple’s (AAPL) macOS. The month before, it acquired the AI startup Statsig, which creates data tools for developers. And earlier this month, it was revealed OpenAI has taken a stake in Thrive Holdings to deliver its AI applications to accounting and IT services firms.
