OpenAI gives further updates on ChatGPT integration with Siri amid rollout
- As part of its “12 days of OpenAI” event, the Sam Altman-led company gave further details on its ChatGPT integration into Apple’s (NASDAQ:AAPL) products.
- ChatGPT can be accessed via the operating system (either anonymously or with an account), in the Settings menu, OpenAI said during its event on Wednesday. It can also be accessed directly via the Siri voice assistant.
- It also showed off how ChatGPT is integrated into Apple’s Visual Intelligence, which lets iPhone users learn about the world around them, akin to Google Lens.
- Apple officially rolled out iOS 18.2 — along with new versions of macOS and iPadOS — this morning, which integrates ChatGPT into its various operating systems. OpenAI is backed by Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and recently raised $6.6B in funding that values the company at $157B.
- The news comes as OpenAI has made several announcements during its “12 days of OpenAI” event. It kicked off the event announcing its $200 per month version of ChatGPT Pro, while Day 2 highlighted its Reinforcement Fine-Tuning Research Program. Days 3 and 4 saw the launch of its AI video generator Sora and its AI-powered writing and coding tool Canvas, respectively.
