OpenAI’s (OPENAI) Sora, a generative artificial intelligence short video creator, is now available for Android, the ChatGPT maker announced today in a post on X.
With its compatibility on Android devices, it is now available in the Google (GOOG)(GOOGL) Play digital store. However, it is only available in a handful of nations, including the U.S., Canada, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam.
ChatGPT currently holds the No. 1 spot on Google Play among free apps. ChatGPT also holds the No. 1 spot in Apple’s (AAPL) App Store, with Sora currently ranking No. 5. Google Gemini ranks No. 4.
After Sora was released on the App Store on September 30, it quickly climbed to No. 1 and held the spot for several weeks. It garnered more than 1M downloads on the App Store within its first five days.
