Generative artificial intelligence company OpenAI is slated to release its reasoning-focused AI, known as Strawberry, in the next two weeks, The Information reported.
Strawberry is said to be capable of solving math problems it has never encountered, something current AI models are incapable of. Strawberry also differs slightly from current AI models in that it “thinks” about a question for 10 to 20 seconds, before answering, the news outlet added, citing two people who have tested the model.
It was reported last month that the Microsoft-backed (NASDAQ:MSFT) company had hoped to release Strawberry in the fall, though no time frame was given.
OpenAI did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
OpenAI is currently in discussions to raise a new round of funding that would value the company at more than $100B and would come after Chief Executive Officer Sam Altman disclosed that its ChatGPT service has more than 200M weekly active users.
The company has also looked into ways to make it more friendly for investors amid the potential new funding round.
