OpenAI is acquiring artificial intelligence startup Statsig, the company said on Monday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the ChatGPT maker said Statsig CEO Vijaye Raji will become the CTO of Applications with the acquisition of the startup. Raji will report to Fidji Simo, who is now OpenAI’s CEO of Applications. Simo had previously been the CEO of Instacart (CART).
Statsig was founded in February 2021 to create data tools for developers. Some of its customers include Atlassian, Notion, Brex, Bloomberg, and “thousands of other companies,” Statsig said in a blog post.
Timing of the acquisition was not disclosed, but Statsig said it is subject “to customary closing conditions, including regulatory approval.”
Statsig was recently named as one of investment firm Macquarie’s 58 companies using AI to disrupt every industry.
It was reported last month that the Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) backed OpenAI was exploring a share sale by current and former employees at a $500B valuation.
