OpenAI reveals AI blueprint for US as White House changes hands
Microsoft-backed (NASDAQ:MSFT) OpenAI appears to be taking advantage of the change in leadership at the White House and Congress as it plans to reveal a policy blueprint regarding artificial intelligence and its role in the future of the U.S.
According to multiple media reports, OpenAI plans to present an official “blueprint for U.S. AI infrastructure” today in Washington, D.C.
The plan involves creating AI economic zones and creating a North American AI alliance, which would include U.S. allies around the globe, including in the Middle East, to compete with China’s own AI ambitions, according to CNBC, which had viewed the document.
President-elect Donald Trump has said he plans to scrap U.S. President Joe Biden’s recent executive order on artificial intelligence. OpenAI wants to work with the incoming administration and reshuffled Congress on AI policy.
The AI blueprint also envisions building small nuclear reactors to bolster the electric grid and establishing a national transmission system to expand power, fiber connectivity and natural gas pipelines.
OpenAI highlights the inherent benefits of its plan, including job creation, infrastructure projects and industrialization.
