Paramount Skydance (PSKY) has held talks recently with French President Emmanuel Macron as part of a European charm offensive to gain support for its $108.4B hostile bid for Warner Bros. Discovery Inc. (WBD), according to a report by Bloomberg on Thursday.
Senior executives from Paramount spoke to Macron and top French officials, sources told Bloomberg, who spoke on condition of anonymity. They also visited London on Thursday for discussions with UK officials, the people added.
Technical meetings between Paramount and the European Commission have also been taking place this week, the report said, citing sources.
Separately, a Delaware judge earlier today refused to fast-track Paramount’s request to see more documents about Netflix’s (NFLX) more than $82.7B bid in a lawsuit that accuses directors of Warner Bros. of misleading investors.
