Perplexity, a startup that offers an artificial intelligence-powered search engine to answer queries, has reportedly reached a $9B valuation in its latest funding round, according to the Wall Street Journal.
The round, which is set to accumulate $500M, is led by Institutional Venture Partners, which also holds a seat on the startup’s board, according to the report.
Perplexity is backed by tech titans such as Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) and Amazon (AMZN) founder Jeff Bezos. The company’s valuation has skyrocketed, as it was valued at $1B earlier this year.
Perplexity is currently facing a lawsuit from the News Corp-owned (NWS)(NWSA) Wall Street Journal and New York Post for alleged copyright infringement.
