Pfizer’s (NYSE:PFE) Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Sally Susman, is leaving after serving the company for 18 long years as part of a company-wide shakeup, CEO Albert Bourla announced on Tuesday.
A former senior executive at Estée Lauder (EL) and American Express (AXP). Susman joined Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) in 2007 as the company’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Communications and Chief Communications Officer.
In addition to her role as Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, she served as the Vice Chair of the Pfizer (NYSE:PFE) Foundation and co-chair of the company’s Political Action Committee.
“She navigated Pfizer’s interests through five U.S. presidential administrations and led stakeholder engagement during the pandemic with the successful ‘Science Will Win’ campaign, which became a rallying cry for many,” Bourla announced in a memo to company staffers.
Susman said she will continue to serve the New York-based pharma giant through the end of 2025 to ensure a smooth transition. “I’m grateful for 18 remarkable years at Pfizer and for the chance to have an impact, spread my wings, and thrive,” she added.
Her departure comes as Pfizer (PFE) plans to integrate various units of its Corporate Affairs division into the business units that they already support within the company. “Sally will help ensure a smooth transition,” Bourla noted, announcing the new arrangement.
