The Trump administration has unveiled TrumpRx.gov, a website that helps consumers find discounts on brand-name drugs when paying cash rather than using insurance.
It launched Thursday evening with 43 drugs from five companies that made deals with the Trump administration: AstraZeneca (AZN), Eli Lilly (LLY), EMD Serono, Novo Nordisk (NVO), and Pfizer (PFE). Discounts from the other 11 companies that made agreements with the administration will be available through TrumpRx.gov in the coming months, the White House said.
The website would feature historic price cuts on the two highest-spending drugs in the United States, benefiting Americans managing diabetes, heart disease (Ozempic and Wegovy only), obesity, and other conditions, the statement said.
The monthly prices of Novo Nordisk’s (NVO) Ozempic and injectable Wegovy will fall from $1,028 and $1,349, respectively, to an average price of $350 and as low as $199, depending on dosage strength. The monthly price of the Wegovy pill will fall from $1,349 to as low as $149, depending on dosage strength.
The monthly price of Zepbound will fall from $1,088 to an average price of $346 and as low as $299, depending on dosage strength.
For some drugs, TrumpRx lists coupon cards. These coupon cards can be used at local pharmacies on a nationwide basis, except for certain specialty medicines. For other drugs, there are no coupon cards, and the discounted pricing is currently only available through the manufacturer’s own direct-to-consumer website or through a limited set of mail-order pharmacies.
