In addition to unveiling its entry into robotics, Qualcomm made several announcements at CES on Monday, including an expansion of its partnership with Google (GOOG) (GOOGL).
The San Diego-based semiconductor company said it was working with Google to increase automotive innovation and bring artificial intelligence to the industry. The companies will enable Snapdragon-powered vehicles with AI from the cloud to the car, offering drivers a more personalized experience, thanks to Google Cloud connectivity.
Qualcomm also unveiled its new Snapdragon X2 Plus platform aimed at creators, which should boost speed, battery life and AI for PCs. The Snapdragon X2 Plus incorporates Qualcomm’s third-generation Oryon CPU and an 80 TOPS neural processing unit. It will be available from PC makers in the first half of the year, Qualcomm said.
The Cristiano Amon-led company also expanded its internet of things portfolio, including new Qualcomm Dragonwing Q-series processors. Other announcements include deals with Leapmotor, ZF and Toyota.
Qualcomm shares rose more than 2% in midday trading on Monday.
