Rocket Lab sets time for 53rd launch of Electron rocket
Rocket Lab USA (NASDAQ:RKLB) on Tuesday said it set the time window for the 53rd launch of its two-stage Electron rocket. The mission will be the second of five for the French company Kinéis.
The mission, dubbed “Kinéis Killed the RadIOT Star,” is scheduled to launch from Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand, during a 14-day launch window that opens on September 17.
Kinéis’ operates satellites that provide connectivity for Internet of Things devices. Its constellation of satellites also offer an Automatic Identification System for ships.
“We’re excited to welcome the Kinéis team on board Electron again as we help them build out their constellation,” Peter Beck, founder and chief executive of Rocket Lab (RKLB), said in a statement. “Dedicated launch is key for the kind of precise orbital deployment requirements many constellation operators need, so we’re proud to make that possible once again.”
