Rocket Lab (RKLB) on Tuesday said it received C$999,951 in research and development funding from the Canadian Space Agency to build a new reaction wheel for 500–1,000 kg satellites.
The award, part of the CSA’s Space Technology Development Program, supports a medium-class wheel with a targeted minimum angular momentum capacity of 25 Nms.
The hardware will be developed and qualified at Rocket Lab’s Toronto facility.
Rocket Lab was one of 18 companies selected under a broader C$14.2 million investment.
