Royal Caribbean Group (NYSE: NYSE:RCL)on Tuesday announced a long-term agreement with Meyer Turku ensuring shipbuilding slots at the Finnish yard through 2036.
The deal includes an order for Icon 5, scheduled for delivery in 2028, and options forIcon 6 and Icon 7, subject to financing.
Meyer Turku, which has built 25 ships for Royal Caribbean since the mid-1990s, will continue to play a key role in the development of theIcon fleet, with three ships already planned for delivery through 2027.
The collaboration is expected to generate significant economic benefits for Finland, employing approximately 13,000 people and contributing over a billion euros annually.
