SA analyst upgrades/downgrades: AMD, ENB, AMZN, FSLR

Analysts have made strategic upgrades for Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and Amazon (AMZN), reflecting optimism about their growth trajectories. In contrast, downgrades for Enbridge (ENB) and First Solar (FSLR) spotlight challenges in their current market conditions and future prospects.

Upgrades

  • Advanced Micro Devices (AMD): Upgrade Hold to Buy by Summit Research. The analyst highlights AMD’s strategic roadmap in capitalizing on the growing AI compute opportunity, which is expected to drive significant long-term revenue growth.

“AMD remains well-positioned for further revenue share gains as the breadth of its product roadmap continues to expand in lockstep with the broader AI infrastructure opportunity’s growing TAM.”

  • Amazon (AMZN): Upgrade Hold to Buy by Income Generator. The upgrade is based on Amazon’s strong earnings performance and the expectation of continued revenue growth despite challenges in its AWS segment.

“Amazon is still very well positioned in relation to the rest of the mega-tech cohort (at just 1.306). As long as the advertising and cloud segments continue compounding, Amazon’s shifts toward a more favorable revenue mix support (and justify) the stock’s forward PE above 35x.”

Downgrades

  • Enbridge (ENB): Downgrade Buy to Hold by Dmytro Konovalov. The downgrade reflects limited growth prospects due to regulatory hurdles and a saturated market despite a recent strong share performance.

“The Q3 financial results and recent news indicated that the company’s growth is likely to remain limited in the long term. This, along with the recent strong market performance of the company’s shares, caused me to downgrade the Enbridge common shares from Buy to Hold..”

  • First Solar (FSLR): Downgrade Buy to Hold by Juxtaposed Ideas. The analyst notes regulatory headwinds and mixed booking trends as factors limiting the margin of safety for investors.

“Despite the decent FQ3’25 booking trends, the recent regulatory landscape presents great uncertainties … triggering a downgraded Hold rating.”
