Salesforce (NYSE:CRM) is set to let go employees at Own, the data management software startup it purchased in September for $1.9B in cash, Bloomberg reported.
Some roles at Own will not be needed now that the acquisition has closed, the company told Own employees this week, according to the news outlet. The end date will be January 31 for those positions, while others will be “transitional” and needed for a period of three to 12 months.
Salesforce’s acquisition of the Englewood Cliffs, N.J.-based Own deal closed on Monday, the startup said on its LinkedIn page.
The Marc Benioff-led Salesforce has undergone a few rounds of layoffs this year, including one in January and another in July.
Salesforce has not yet responded to a request for comment from Seeking Alpha.
