Tech Voices: AMD’s AI hiring, Nvidia’s strong sales, Hg buys OneStream

Seeking Alpha’s roundup of statements, announcements, and remarks that could impact the technology sector.

  • Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) CEO Lisa Su said that while AI hasn’t slowed hiring for the company, it has impacted what type of people it’s bringing on board.

“I would say that we’re actually not hiring fewer people,” Su told CNBC at the CES conference in Las Vegas. “Frankly, we’re growing very significantly as a company, so we actually are hiring lots of people, but we’re hiring different people. We’re hiring people who are AI-forward.”

  • Nvidia (NVDA) CFO Colette Kress that the company is generating more revenue than expected due to strong chip demand.

In October, Nvidia forecasted revenue of around $500 billion by the end of 2026.

“That $500 billion has definitely gotten larger,” Kress said Tuesday at a JPMorgan event, according to Bloomberg.

  • Financial software provider OneStream (OS) has agreed to be taken private by Hg at an equity valuation of around $6.4 billion.

Under the deal, OneStream (OS) shareholders will receive $24 a share in cash, which represents a 31% premium to the stock’s closing price on Jan. 5. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2026. OneStream’s majority voting shareholder, KKR (KKR), has already approved the deal, according to the companies.

After the closing, Hg will become OneStream’s (OS) majority voting stockholder, with General Atlantic and Tidemark holding minority stakes.
