- Meta (META) said it has signed agreements with Vistra, TerraPower, and Oklo (OKLO) for nuclear energy projects to help power its U.S. operations, including its new Prometheus supercluster AI facility in New Albany, Ohio.
“Nuclear energy will help power our AI future, strengthen our country’s energy infrastructure, and provide clean, reliable electricity for everyone. These projects are going to create thousands of skilled jobs in Ohio and Pennsylvania, add new energy to the grid, extend the life of three existing nuclear plants, and accelerate new reactor technologies,” said Meta Chief Global Affairs Officer Joel Kaplan in a statement.
- Chinese AI developer DeepSeek (DEEPSEEK) said it plans to launch its next-generation V4 AI model in mid-February.
The new model will feature enhanced coding capabilities that DeepSeek testing has indicated could outperform Anthropic’s (ANTHRO) Claude and OpenAI’s (OPENAI) GPT in coding tasks, The Information reported, according to Reuters.
