Elon Musk-led EV giant Tesla’s (TSLA) Shanghai factory has produced its four-millionth China-made vehicle, a Starlight Gold Model Y L, marking a milestone for the automaker’s largest manufacturing site.
“From 3 million to 4 million vehicles took just under 14 months. Over the past 6 years, the Shanghai Gigafactory has contributed nearly half of Tesla’s global electric vehicle deliveries,” reports said, citing Tesla’s official Weibo.
According to recent reports, Tesla’s (TSLA) China factory shipment rose for the third time this year, amid a global decline in sales for the EV maker.
According to preliminary data from China’s Passenger Car Association, the firm’s Shanghai plant shipped 86,700 vehicles in November, a 10% year-over-year increase.
