- Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) completed its first fully autonomous vehicle delivery from factory to customer without the assistance of a safety driver or remote operator.
- “The first fully autonomous delivery of a Tesla Model Y from factory to a customer home across town, including highways, was just completed a day ahead of schedule!!” CEO Elon Musk posted on X.
- The car reached a maximum speed of 72 miles per hour, according to Tesla’s head of AI and autopilot, Ashok Elluswamy.
- Musk had initially set his birthday, June 28, for the first autonomous delivery.
