Tesla’s (NASDAQ:TSLA) much-hyped Diner & Drive-In officially opened at 4:20 p.m. Monday in Hollywood, California, merging classic Americana with the company’s futuristic brand.
Positioned as a supercharger stop, the site boasts 80 V4 Supercharger stalls and a drive-in movie theater with audio synced directly to a Tesla’s speakers. The location also serves up a full menu by chef Eric Greenspan, Tesla merchandise, two 45-foot LED movie screens, and even features an Optimus robot, aiming to appeal beyond just Tesla owners.
Menu items include diner staples like fried chicken & waffles, tuna melts, and some themed items such as the “Tesla Burger” with “Electric Sauce,” priced from $4 to $15.
The launch fulfills Elon Musk’s long-held dream of opening a Tesla restaurant in L.A. Despite recent political backlash and a dip in Tesla stock, Musk’s fan base remains loyal, with dozens queuing to be among the first guests.
Musk has remained enthusiastic about his Tesla Diner on X, saying he plans to open other locations. “If our retro-futuristic diner turns out well, which I think it will, @Tesla will establish these in major cities around the world, as well as at Supercharger sites on long distance routes,” he posted on X. “An island of good food, good vibes & entertainment, all while Supercharging!”
