Tesla’s China-made EV sales drop about 10% in October – report

Tesla’s China-made electric vehicle sales declined by ~9.9% Y/Y in October 2025, with sales totaling around 61,497 units, according to a Reuters report that cites data from the China Passenger Car Association.

The decrease reversed modest growth seen in September and is attributed to several factors, including increased competition from domestic Chinese EV manufacturers like BYD (OTCPK:BYDDF), NIO (NIO), and XPeng (XPEV).

Additionally, Tesla’s (TSLA) Shanghai gigafactory output of Model 3 and Model Y also dropped significantly in October, down 32.3% from September, the report added. The gigafactory exports to Europe, India, and other markets.

Besides, Tesla (TSLA) faces the sharpest sales declines across Europe. However, the carmaker reported record Q3 sales globally—driven by U.S. buyers.
