Tesla’s (TSLA) Cybertruck chief, Siddhant Awasthi, announced his departure after more than eight years at the company.
Awasthi announced the news in a LinkedIn post, stating that he had worked across various divisions in Tesla (TSLA), including on the Model 3, working on the Shanghai Gigafactory, and then delivering the Cybertruck. His exit comes amid challenging market conditions for electric pickups, with Cybertruck sales falling short of expectations.
He began his journey at Tesla (TSLA) as an intern, eventually overseeing the entire Cybertruck division. Awasthi also headed the Model 3 program in July 2024 and was later promoted internally.
