Update: Adds Sweden data
Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) is facing mounting pressure in Europe, with new data highlighting a sharp decline in vehicle registrations across key markets.
In Denmark, Tesla registrations fell 61.57% year-over-year in June to 1,282 vehicles, according to figures released Tuesday by Mobility Denmark. This marks one of the steepest monthly declines for the EV maker in the country, where it had previously enjoyed strong momentum.
Tesla’s registrations in Sweden fell 64.4% in June from a year earlier.
The slump follows a broader downward trend for Tesla in the Europe. Tesla’s (NASDAQ:TSLA) vehicle sales across Europe fell 37% in Q1, which was much worse than the overall European and global EV sales growth marks.
In May, registrations across the EU dropped 40.5% to 8,729 units compared to the same month last year, according to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association.
Tesla shares fall 4.37% in U.S. premarket trading.
