Tesla’s (NASDAQ:TSLA) top sales executive in North America, Troy Jones, has left the company, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
Jones, the vice president of sales, service, and delivery in Tesla’s North American market, has departed after 15 years at the company.
Jones’ departure comes amid a flurry of high-level exits at the electric vehicle company, which has been struggling lately with a steep decline in sales.
Tesla did not immediately respond to Seeking Alpha’s request for a comment.
Last month, according to several reports, Tesla fired the head of its North American and European operations, Omead Afshar, over dissatisfaction with the company’s performance.
Tesla has been struggling with a sharp decline in sales lately amid waning demand and fading popularity. According to the company’s most recent sales figures, the company delivered 384,122 vehicles in Q2, down 14% from last year’s deliveries.
Elon Musk’s electric car company has recently faced protests, incidents of vandalism, and a sharp decline in its stock price amid the billionaire’s increasing association with politics.
Tesla (NASDAQ:TSLA) shares were last down 1.11%.
