The flu season was so heavy that it may have pushed up earnings for some stocks

The CDC reported that seasonal influenza activity remains elevated nationally, although it has decreased for two consecutive weeks. Data to date suggests the season has peaked; however, flu-related medical visits, hospitalizations, and deaths remain elevated, and the CDC expects several more weeks of above-average flu activity.
