Threads has added 35M users in November – report
Meta’s (NASDAQ:META) text-first social platform, Threads, saw 35M new signups since the beginning of November, the company’s spokesperson Andy Stone reportedly told Axios.
Platforms like Threads and BlueSky are competing to attract users who are leaving X, formerly Twitter.
At the end of October, Threads had nearly 275M monthly active users. CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on the company’s third quarter earnings call that a million people were signing up on the app every day.
Stone told Axios that Threads is now going on three months of more than one million signups per day.
The report said in mid-November, Instagram head Adam Mosseri claimed Threads added more than 15M new signups since the start of the month. The new data suggested another 20M new signups have been added in the past 11 days.
Last week, BlueSky said it added 20M users, and the app’s usage grew more than 5x in the two weeks following the election. Elon Musk’s X, in comparison, has over 570M monthly active users globally.
