President Trump is again boasting of his plan to revamp Obamacare by ending subsidies for coverage that end up going to health insurers, which he described as “big, fat, rich” in a Truth Social post Tuesday morning.
In a recent interview with Fox News, the president said that he would replace the subsidies with those funds instead going into accounts for individuals to buy health insurance.
“THE ONLY HEALTHCARE I WILL SUPPORT OR APPROVE IS SENDING THE MONEY DIRECTLY BACK TO THE PEOPLE, WITH NOTHING GOING TO THE BIG, FAT, RICH INSURANCE COMPANIES, WHO HAVE MADE $TRILLIONS, AND RIPPED OFF AMERICA LONG ENOUGH,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “THE PEOPLE WILL BE ALLOWED TO NEGOTIATE AND BUY THEIR OWN, MUCH BETTER, INSURANCE.”
He also advised Congress to “not waste your time and energy on anything else.”
